Preschool
Going to Primary School is a big step in your child’s development. Therefore, the transition from kindergarten should be carefully and gently managed. We work very closely with the teachers of the BilinGO primary school, who also visit our Preschool several times a year.
Due to the proximity and many common festivals, the teachers are already known to our children before enrollment. Additionally, our preschool children attend the first grade class several times a year to, “get a taste”. The visits to the primary school are always very exciting for our preschoolers. Once a year, the first graders also visit our preschoolers so that they can show what they have learned. We strive to give our preschoolers a smooth transition to primary school, so it is very important to us to familiarize them early on with the teachers, children and classroom environment.
We prepare our preschool children for the school by helping them (according to age) in the different competences and development areas. This includes the development of mathematical knowledge (quantity acquisition, number images, etc), phonological awareness (initials, syllable detection, recognition of rhymes, etc) and the development of fine motor skills (pen holding, cutting, etc).
Preschool lessons take place four times a week. Twice in English and twice in German. The aim of our Preschool program is to prepare our students as much as possible for primary school. Both on a social and emotional level as well as cognitive and academic.
